Sport fencing develops good sportsmanship and self-discipline, physical coordination, and mental toughness. The technical and tactical skills of fencing enable fencers of different size, age, and strength to compete on an equal footing. Along with great exercise, fencing is a mentally intense, demanding sport that you will enjoy for many years to come.
Return to Learn to Fence. Our program teaches basic fencing behaviour, sportsmanship, and self discipline, as well as the basic terminology, footwork, offensive and defensive actions, and bouting strategy with actual fencing. All our classes are taught by nationally certified coaches and implement the Canadian Fencing Federation Armband Instructional approach.
